"Sand Turtle"

Shortly after arriving in Florida, mom developed a very bad stomach ache.  After a day of increasing pain, Ronni rushed her to the Halifax Medical Center, a 764-bed Level II Trauma Center, in Daytona Beach.  She had lots of tests and finally they determined that she had acute appendicitis and she underwent surgery at 11:30 that night.  Fortunately, Sophia, mom's good friend from her High School days, had just arrived at the Condo and was able to take us kids. The Doctors did a great job and they released mom the next day and she recovered rapidly to enjoy the Florida sun!
